When I was 18, I was given my grandfathers Contax IIIa. To this day, it is my favorite camera to shoot with. The process of traditional photography arouses my creative spirit. What many today may see as a limitation, I see as an opportunity to make art in ways that might be otherwise abandoned in lieu of technology. While I don't consider myself a Luddite, I do prefer a more physical artistic process. My fingers winding the film, images emerging in the darkroom, the feel of scissors cutting paper. These are things that bring me great joy.
